In this final session, Jeribai defines the gifts of the Holy Spirit and how essential they are to our ability to minister. As we co-labor with the Holy Spirit, we will effectively minister to God’s people and become a witness to the world about the Kingdom of God and His goodness!

Session 5 Outline: The Gifts of the Holy Spirit

God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit love to give gifts!!!

The gifts of the Holy Spirit, often called the “manifestations of the Spirit”, are given to us for the purpose of ministering to the Body of Christ and witnessing to the world around us about the Kingdom of God and the goodness of God … as God is not willing that any should perish, but that all come to repentance…

When a believer receives God the Holy Spirit, he receives all that he needs — all the equipment — to do the works of Jesus Christ. All that operated in and through Jesus Christ will operate in and through us, the Body of Jesus Christ.

As we yield our lives, the Holy Spirit will express HIS ministry through us… He equips us, empowers us and will inspire all these wonderful gifts to initiate, mature and deploy and they will give glory to our Father in heaven.

Let’s discuss some of these manifestations of the Holy Spirit

1 Corinthians 12:8-10 – describes many gifts the Holy Spirit works in us and through us… let’s look at these in more detail…

The Gift of Wisdom – the gift to make choices and give leadership that is according to God’s will.

The Gift of Knowledge – the gift to comprehensively understand a spiritual issue or circumstance.

The Gift of Faith – the gift to trust God and inspire others to trust God, no matter the conditions.

The Gift of Healing – the wondrous gift of using God’s healing power to cure a person who is ill, wounded or suffering.

The Gift of Miracles – the gift to display signs and miracles that give credibility to God’s Word and the Gospel message.

The Gift of Prophecy – the gift to declare a message from God.

The Gift of Discerning Spirits – the gift to recognize whether or not something is truly from God or in accordance with righteousness.

The Gift of Tongues – the gift to communicate in a foreign language you do not have experience with, to converse with those who speak that language.

The Gift of Interpreting Tongues – the gift of interpreting the speech and writings of a different language and translating it back to others in your own.

The Gift of Administration – the gift to keep things ordered and in agreement with God’s principles.

The Gift of Helps – the gift of a desire and capacity to always help others and do whatever it takes to achieve a task.

Once again I’d like to reiterate that all these gifts are the ministry of the Holy Spirit working within us and as we, by faith, initiate and deploy these gifts we will be working in a powerful and beautiful harmony with the Holy Spirit to truly encourage and impact people’s lives around us!

Lastly, receive this charge from the Apostle Peter. Put into use what God has given you. If you have received the Holy Spirit, pray in your heavenly language everyday, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you, yield and grow as you exercise those gifts God has deposited within you. The body of Christ is counting on you to serve and support it’s growth and the world is desperately in need of the sons & daughters of God to show forth their true image, the image of our father in heaven, God almighty and His son Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 4:10-11 (ESV)

10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: 11 whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies — in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
